Jessica Ragosta Early is a member of the firm's Litigation Practice Group, concentrating in the area of complex business litigation. Ms. Early advises clients on a variety of commercial disputes, including litigation or potential litigation involving contract disputes, unfair trade practices, product liability and insurance coverage. She also has significant experience representing clients in litigation and probate actions involving trusts, estates and fiduciary disputes.

Ms. Early's experience includes all phases of litigation. She represents clients at the trial and appellate level, and in state and federal courts. As part of her practice, Ms. Early has briefed and argued a wide range of motions, including dispositive motions, conducted depositions of expert and fact witnesses, prepared clients and experts to testify at trial, assisted with and served a lead counsel at trial, and managed large document productions. She is well-versed in all aspects of fact investigation and discovery, including electronic discovery.

Recently, Ms. Early assisted with a three-month trial defending a client against environmental product liability claims. She also served as lead counsel in a trial seeking approval of fiduciary accounts and defending against breach of fiduciary duty claims. Ms. Early has a significant understanding of appellate law and recently prepared an amicus brief on behalf of an energy broker and 11 of its municipal clients, successfully arguing that energy broker contracts are exempt from statutory competitive bidding requirements.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Early served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Scott L. Kafker of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. She also interned as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Margaret R. Hinkle of the Business Litigation Session of the Massachusetts Superior Court.

During law school, Ms. Early was the business manager of the Connecticut Law Review and judging director of the Moot Court Board. She also won multiple awards for legal writing and oral argument.
