Holland & Knight Partner William Shepherd Elected to American Bar Association Board of Governors

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (August 24, 2016) – Holland & Knight partner William Shepherd has been elected to the American Bar Association (ABA) Board of Governors. His one-year term began at the close of the ABA's annual meeting in August.

Mr. Shepherd has a long history of service with the ABA, including serving as chair of the 20,000-member Criminal Justice Section in 2012-2013 and as a member of the House of Delegates.

The 38-member Board of Governors oversees the general operation of the ABA and develops specific plans of action. Mr. Shepherd joins fellow Holland & Knight partner Min Cho as a member of the Board. Mr. Cho has served as a young lawyer member-at-large since 2014.

Mr. Shepherd is a member of Holland & Knight's national White Collar Defense Team and focuses on defending individuals and corporations in state and federal criminal matters and conducting sensitive internal investigations. He works in the firm’s West Palm Beach, Fla. and Washington, D.C. offices.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Shepherd served nearly a dozen years as a prosecutor culminating in his appointment as Florida’s statewide prosecutor by the state’s attorney general. In this post, he led eight offices throughout Florida in the investigation and prosecution of multi-circuit criminal activity.
