Holland & Knight Ranked Among UK’s Top Law Firms in Asset Finance and Leasing, Aviation by Legal 500

LONDON (September 21, 2016) – Holland & Knight has been named one of the top law firms in the United Kingdom in the areas of asset finance and leasing and aviation by Legal 500 United Kingdom in its newly released 2016 edition.

Four of the firm’s London-based aviation and aircraft finance attorneys were recommended. They are partners Robert Ricketts and Gwyn O’Flynn, consultant Ian Clark and senior counsel Timothy Murray.

Mr. Ricketts advises banks, leasing companies, corporate operators and airlines on various issues arising from the sale, purchase, leasing, financing, maintenance and mortgaging of aircraft. Recent transactions include the leasing of Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Bombardier aircraft by a variety of lessors and the sale of a diverse range of aircraft. In addition to his substantial corporate jet practice, he represents several airlines throughout Europe and elsewhere around the world.

Ms. O’Flynn concentrates her practice on aircraft transactional work and the commercial aspects of aviation, including aircraft financing, management, leasing, lease novations, purchases and sales. She advises banks, lessors and operators on finance and leasing issues, as well as maintenance and other aviation supplier companies on commercial contracts. She also handles corporate aircraft work.

A former pilot and flying instructor in the Royal Air Force, Mr. Clark focuses his practice on commercial transactions, litigation and international regulatory matters. He is closely involved in developments concerning the operating regimes affecting corporate aircraft and aircraft that are in shared ownership. He also advises clients on aviation insurance coverage matters and is experienced in cases arising out of aircraft accidents.

Mr. Murray represents airlines, leasing companies, airports, business and general aviation operators, travel firms and other companies involved in the aviation and travel industries. He has extensive experience in aviation and travel-related dispute resolution matters in the English courts and in arbitrations, including leasing, aircraft finance, insurance, aircraft repossessions, aircraft engineering, technical issues, accidents and general contractual disputes.
