IJGlobal Recognizes Holland & Knight with Two 2015 Americas Deal of the Year Awards

NEW YORK (March 17, 2016) – Holland & Knight was honored with two IJGlobal Deal of the Year 2015 awards last night at the publication’s annual Americas Awards Dinner in New York. The firm received both the North American Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year award and the Latin American Wind Deal of the Year award.

Woody Vaughan, a partner in Holland & Knight's Atlanta office, led the team of lawyers who advised the Corvias Group in securing $548.3 million in private financing to fund the initial phase of an innovative public-private partnership with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. The securities offering, which was placed by Goldman Sachs, closed on May 14 of last year.

Jose Antonio Prado and Alejandro Landa Thierry, partners in Holland & Knight's Mexico City office, led the team of lawyers who advised Oak Creek Energy Systems, Inc., a California-based wind projects developer, in the development, project finance and sale of the first two construction-ready stages of its Tres Mesas Wind Projects to funds managed by Goldman Sachs and Corporativo GBM. The transaction closed on March 31 of last year.

The representation of Oak Creek Energy in this multilayered transaction was handled from start to finish by Holland & Knight’s Mexico office.
