California Supreme Court Issues CEQA Ruling Regarding Categorical Exemptions

The California Supreme Court recently issued an opinion overturning the Court of Appeal and charting a course for the future application of categorical exemptions under the California Environmental Quality Act. The authors of this article explain the decision and note that the delays caused by CEQA review and litigation have caused California to lose out on electric vehicle manufacturing plants and solar projects, among numerous other types of projects throughout the state.
