Timothy J. McLaughlin is an associate in Holland & Knight's Boston office and a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. He is experienced with a wide range of commercial litigation, arbitration and white collar matters having appeared in various federal district and appellate courts, as well as state courts, including Superior Court, the Business Litigation Session, Land Court, the Permit Session, Probate Court and elsewhere. Within Holland & Knight, Mr. McLaughlin is a member of the firm’s e-Discovery and Technology Team. As an additional part of his practice, Mr. McLaughlin draws upon his past experiences in the military and with international law to provide advice on issues affecting privately contracted security companies. He also maintains an active pro bono practice having handled matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and in Massachusetts Superior Court litigating prisoners’ rights claims.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. McLaughlin served in the United States Marine Corps from 2000 through 2006. While attending law school, Mr. McLaughlin worked abroad as a prosecution intern at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in its war crimes section. He is also active in the community, serving as the president of the board of directors of Veterans Legal Services, which is a Boston-based 501(c)(3) that provides pro bono legal services to homeless and low-income veterans.
