Community Commitment

Holland & Knight attorneys and staff believe the time-honored traditions of civic, charitable and pro bono service have a central role in the modern day practice of law. Though our outreach efforts vary among our office locations throughout the world, we are united in our common goal to improve our communities for all.

As active members of our bar associations, we have many opportunities to leverage the resources of our firm with other law firms in community service. From cultural events to public education programs, our attorneys share their talents and resources to improve the quality of life in communities where we work and live. We also serve as members of governmental bodies, and in leadership roles in non-profit organizations, economic development groups, higher education institutions and numerous civic initiatives.

Holland & Knight established the Public and Charitable Service Department to coordinate the firm's community, charitable and pro bono initiatives, and focus on assisting needy individuals and organizations in the communities the firm serves.

Holland & Knight was proud to support the National 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance Initiative. Employees in all U.S. offices participated in this initiative by giving their time and talent to local community service organizations. The majority of the volunteer activities took place on or around September 11, 2011, but many of them will continue through the end of the year.
