Environmental Health and Safety Compliance

Emerging climate change laws and regulations present new corporate compliance obligations across a wide range of industries. Holland & Knight's Compliance Services Team assists clients with preparing for and efficiently managing these challenges. Our global practice provides corporate compliance and environmental health and safety counseling. We help businesses, organizations and educational institutions devise and improve environmental operational strategies. Corporate clients are counseled regarding emerging opportunities, including carbon emission credit trading programs, green technologies and grant monies to retrofit existing operations. In addition, our team has extensive experience with the Federal Trade Commission's Green Guides and counsels clients on how to avoid "green washing" claims.

There is an increasing obligation for public companies to report the impact of climate change on their business to shareholders and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Our team is knowledgeable with the environmental disclosure obligations under FASBY 141-R and FIN 47 and works with companies to ensure that their SEC filings are at minimum adequate as well as consistent with information provided in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports and other public documents.
