Compliance and Regulatory Issues Resolved for Medical Supply Company

Holland & Knight lawyers were retained by a large national medical supply company to defend a Notice of Violation issued by the Florida Department of Health following a routine inspection of one the client's Florida locations. The client, a wholesale distributor of prescription drugs and devices, was cited for inadequate recordkeeping practices and failure to pass pedigree papers. Because of the client's history of compliance issues at other locations, the Department initially refused to negotiate the proposed fines or even consider the underlying facts. Holland & Knight arranged a meeting between the Department representatives and the client's corporate representatives in Tallahassee, and negotiated favorable settlement terms which resolved any and all compliance issues at all Florida facilities predating the settlement conference. The clients are extremely pleased with the outcome and have named Holland & Knight their "go to" firm for any Florida regulatory issues in the future.
