Assessed Antidumping or Countervailing Duties. U.S. Customs has announced additional distributions of assessed antidumping or countervailing duties for fiscal year 2001. (Fiscal year 2001 distributions were first announced in the Federal Register of August 3, 2001.) Any domestic manufacturer, producer or farmer that was a petitioner or interested party in support of petition for which an antidumping or countervailing duty has been entered and is still in operation is eligible to receive a distribution. A listing of the relevant antidumping and countervailing duty orders, the affected domestic companies, and a description of the procedures for indicating a desire to receive a distribution are contained in the January 17, 2002, Federal Register notice at http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=2002_register&docid=02-1175-filed For more information contact a Holland & Knight trade attorney.

U.S.-Jordan Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The (FTA) took effect on December 17, 2001. Effective immediately, importers may use the Special Program Indicator "JO" on entry summaries to file claims for preferential tariff treatment of qualified articles. However, pending the updating of the Automated Commercial System (ACS), importers must file their entries manually to claim the benefits of the FTA. Importers also may use post-entry procedures to receive a refund of duties for eligible Jordanian articles entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after December 17, 2001. For a description of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule items eligible for preferential treatment and the applicable rules of origin visit the U.S. Customs Web site at http://www.cebb.customs.treas.gov/public/cgi/cebb.ece?mode=fi&area=13&name=T-TBT222.TXT or contact a Holland & Knight trade attorney.
