The Bush Administration has ordered banks to block the
assets of one organization and seven individuals it believes support the
Basque Fatherland and Liberty, a separatist group that has launched terror
attacks in Spain. Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill said the European Union (EU)
is also moving to block 18 entities in a similar fashion. Treasury said the
eight entities on its list also were on the EU list, along with eight others
whose assets have previously been ordered blocked in the US. The list of
entities, whose assets must be blocked immediately, are available at http://www.treas.gov/ofac/bulletin.txt.
