U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC)
May 30, 2002
- All five Commissioners of the United States International
Trade Commission have determined that industries in the United States are
materially injured by imports of certain folding metal tables and chairs from
China that the Department of Commerce has determined are sold in the United
States at less than fair value. As a result of the Commission's affirmative
determination, the U.S. Department of Commerce will issue an antidumping duty
order on imports of these products from China.
- The USITC is seeking general information from all
interested parties on approximately 400 pending bills proposing duty suspensions
or other tariff modifications on imported goods. The bills are under
consideration for possible enactment later this year. For the information to be
useful to Congress, it must be submitted as soon as possible but no later than
July 15, 2002. Additional information on the type of information being
requested and on submitting the information is available at http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=2002_register&docid=02-12705-filed.
