- The Bureau of Industry and Security is sponsoring free
workshops in Washington, D.C., on the Simplified Network Application Process
(SNAP) system, including an overview of new SNAP features to be implemented in
2002. The free workshops will occur in two half-day sessions on June 7, 11, 12
and 14 from 8:30 a.m. - noon (EDT) and 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (EDT). The
workshops are open to all exporters, regardless of whether they currently use
SNAP. Interested exporters are encouraged to reserve a space as soon as
possible at
http://www.bis.doc.gov/Forms/EastCoastSeminars.html, or by fax at
202-501-6280.
- The Bureau of Industry and Security has amended the
Commerce Control List (CCL), to reflect changes that were negotiated during the
September 2001 Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) Plenary in Ottawa,
Canada. These revisions include several changes to CCL entries ECCN 1C107 and
ECCN 9A101. The revisions to ECCN 1C107 clarify what shapes and sizes are usable
for rocket nozzles and reentry vehicle nose tips. The revisions to ECCN 9A101
expand the scope of items controlled, but will have a minimal effect on the
number of license applications submitted to BIS. Additional information is
available at http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=2002_register&docid=02-12622-filed.
