SEC Sets Fee Rates for Fiscal Year 2009

On April 30, 2008, the SEC announced that in fiscal year 2009, the fees that public companies and other issuers pay under Section 6(b) of the Securities Act to register securities, under Section 13(e) of the Exchange Act to repurchase securities and under Section 14(g) of the Exchange Act relating to proxy solicitations and statements in corporate control transactions, will be set at $55.80 per million dollars. This fee rate will be effective October 1, 2008, or five days after the date the SEC receives its fiscal 2009 regular appropriation. In addition, the fees under Section 31 of the Exchange Act applicable to securities transactions on the exchanges and certain over-the-counter markets will be fixed at $9.30 per million dollars. This fee rate will be effective October 1, 2008, or 30 days after the date the SEC receives its fiscal year 2009 regular appropriation.
