Roundtable on Fair Value Accounting Standards

On July 9, 2008, the SEC hosted a roundtable on fair value accounting and auditing standards. The roundtable was organized into two panels, the first focusing on fair value accounting issues from the perspective of large financial institutions and their investors’ needs, and the second focusing on fair value accounting issues from the perspective of all public companies, including small public companies, and their investors’ needs.
Panelists included representatives from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., Loews Corporation, Xerox Corporation and the Federal Reserve Bank.
