Amy L. Edwards has been appointed to be the incoming chair of the Environmental Transactions and Brownfields (ETAB) Committee in the ABA’s Section of Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER), effective August 10, 2008.

Amy previously was the programming vice chair for the ETAB Committee.

Larry Liebesman will be on a panel on Clean Water Act litigation developments at the fall meeting of the ABA’s SEER on September 18 in Phoenix, Arizona.


Amy L. Edwards will be moderating a panel entitled When Brown Meets Green: In corporating sustainability and Green Building Principles into Brownfield’s Redevelopment Projects at the ABA SEER fall conference on September 18-20, 2008, in Phoenix, Arizona. The panel will focus on the integration of sustainability/LEED principles and green remediation techniques into brownfields redevelopment projects. Fellow panelists will include Dan Powell of the Environmental Protection Agency; Shelley Fidler, partner at Van Ness Feldman and legal advisor to the U.S. Green Building Council; and Grant Trigger of Real Estate Interests, Inc., a brownfields redevelopment firm.


Amy L. Edwards will be making a presentation at the ALI-ABA annual conference on the Environmental Aspects of Real Estate Transactions. Her topic is the Uniform Environmental Covenants Act. The program is on October 2-3, 2008, in Boston, Massachusetts.


Rafe Petersen is the co-chair of the Mid-Atlantic Wetlands Conference on November 6-7, 2008, in Baltimore, Maryland. The event is sponsored by CLE International. Larry Liebesman will also will be speaking on Endangered Species Act issues at the conference.

Recent Speaking Events

Tad Ferris conducted a briefing for the US Council for International Business (USCIB) on the US-China Strategic Economic Dialogue, Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT), and Energy and Environment Cooperation on July 16 at Holland & Knight in Washington, D.C. Tad is the vice chair of the USCIB China Committee and chair of the USCIB China Environment Task Force.


Roger Sims spoke at the 22nd Annual Florida Chamber Environmental Permitting Summer School on water permitting issues on July 17 at Marco Island, Florida. Larry Sellers spoke on Florida Legislative Update and 2009 Forecast. For more information, visit:
