Union Negotiations Shake Up Hotels in San Francisco

San Francisco Daily Journal

November 13, 2009

Linda Auerbach Allderdice- Los Angeles
Lynn K. Cadwalader- San Francisco

Global Hospitality, Resort and Timeshare Group Co-Chair Lynn Cadwalader co-authored a San Francisco Daily Journal article titled "Union Negotiations Shake Up Hotels in San Francisco."

The article discusses the challenging environment surrounding collective bargaining negotiations between UNITE HERE Local 2 and San Francisco hotel employers. The previous collective bargaining agreement expired in August 2009, and internecine strife between UNITE HERE and the SEIU has complicated discussions regarding who will bear the cost of recent increases in the price of healthcare. Ms. Cadwalader explores the background of this "major schism in the labor movement," and explains its impact on current labor negotiations.

Also printed in the Los Angeles Daily Journal, the article is the second of a three-part series. To read the full article, please click on the link below.
