A growing number of companies are turning to the cost-saving strategy of outsourcing their family medical leave human resources (HR) functions. Improving service quality, saving time and money, and returning to "core competencies" are the reasons many companies point to when outsourcing HR functions. Nowadays, companies'' concern with the lack of clarity and consistency of federal court decisions on the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) adds to the attraction of outsourcing.
