Break Out the Books: Teaching E-Discovery

co-author, Law Technology News

January 1, 2009

Bill Hamilton co-authored an article with noted e-discovery blogger Ralph Losey in the January 2009 issue of Law Technology News titled "Break Out the Books." Hamilton and Losey set the stage for the current state of e-discovery ("EDD") and focus on the wide chasm between those in the legal profession who are EDD-savvy and those who are not. This divide exposes a pervasive problem in the practice of law. In the article, they focus on the need to educate the next generation of lawyers early in the game and how to effect measures to accomplish this. Hamilton and Losey co-teach a groundbreaking course in EDD at the University of Florida Frederic G. Levin College of Law, which they outline as a case study for legal education in this area.
