Mr. Adams' article explains the option of using tax-exempt bond financing, a benefit available to all non-profit organizations, which now includes religious institutions. This specific federal financing applies to an institution's structures, such as a school, healthcare clinic, athletic hall and other social facilities, but not to a place offering direct religious worship, such as a chapel. Although this is great news for churches, some states hold more restrictive laws regarding this mandate, which can limit the ability to receive the finances.
