WASHINGTON, D.C. – Holland & Knight LLP announced today that prominent
aviation attorney Anita Mosner has joined the firm’s Washington D.C. office as a
partner. Mosner will play a key role in Holland & Knight's aviation practice,
which handles aircraft finance, corporate transactions, commercial litigation,
legislative and government affairs, regulatory matters, NTSB investigations and
accident litigation. Chambers USA Guide 2006 recently included Holland &
Knight's aviation transportation practice among the leading aviation practices
in the United States.
Having devoted her career to representing airlines, airports, and the
companies and governments that support them, Mosner will both expand upon and
complement Holland & Knight’s recognized strengths in aviation.
“It would be difficult to find a lawyer better suited to serving our aviation
industry clients,” said Rich Gold, Chair of Holland & Knight’s Public Policy and
Regulation Group. “Anita’s list of national and international clients speaks for
itself. We are pleased to welcome someone of her background and experience to
the firm.”
Bob Craft, Chair of the firm’s national Aviation Industry Team, said, “Having
worked alongside Anita for a number of years on aviation industry matters, we
are delighted to have her on our team. She has a strong background in strategic
planning and government relations, as well as legal issues.”
With experience as both a lawyer and a consultant, Mosner possesses a deep
familiarity with the commercial and operational sides of the airline and airport
businesses. Her work for clients has ranged from helping U.S. and foreign
airlines gain access at key airports to commenting on major aviation policy
developments and assisting her clients in their selection of alliance partners.
Mosner has been involved in several airline acquisitions, handling both
commercial issues and the regulatory evaluation and approval of those
arrangements.
Working with the U.S. and several foreign governments on aviation trade
policy and facilitation matters over the years, Mosner has a strong
understanding of the issues relating to airline nationality, ownership, and
control. She has assisted clients in matters relating to aviation competition
and has provided aeropolitical and government relations strategy and advice.
Commenting on joining Holland & Knight, Mosner said, “I‘m very excited about
becoming part of a group that has strengths in such a wide range of aviation and
trade-related disciplines and that has a presence several key markets. While
the group is dynamic and hard-charging, I also have been impressed by their
collegiality and ‘can-do’ attitude.”
Mosner is a magna cum laude graduate of Tufts University, where she
majored in Political Science. After graduation, Mosner worked on Capitol Hill
as an aide to Rep. Joseph Addabbo. She earned her law degree from the Boston
University School of Law (where she was an Editor of the Boston University
Journal of International Law). She spent her final year of law school as a
guest student at Georgetown University.
Mosner regularly speaks on airline alliances and competition matters,
aeropolitical matters, low-fare airlines, airline law, and commercial aviation
in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
