Victor Henderson Receives Vanguard Award

CHICAGO - Holland & Knight Partner Victor Henderson was one of five
honorees to receive the annual Vanguard Award honoring his efforts in making the
law and legal profession more accessible and reflective of the community at
large.
The awards were jointly sponsored by the Asian American Bar Association, the
Chicago Bar Association, the Cook County Bar Association, the Hispanic Lawyers
Association of Illinois, and the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago.
Also receiving Vanguard Awards for their efforts to improve access to the law
for minorities and underprivileged were Benjamin Lumicao, Jr., Allstate
Insurance Company; Hon. Sebastian Patti, Circuit Court of Cook County; R. Eugene
Pincham, ret. Illinois Appellate Court Justice; and Jesse Ruiz, Gardner Carton &
Douglas LLP.
Henderson is a partner in the firm’s litigation department with a
distinguished career in both the public and private sectors. A former counsel to
a committee in the United States House of Representatives, Henderson’s practice
includes trial and appellate work in both state and federal court in cases
involving product liability, contracts, employment matters and complex
commercial litigation.
In June, Henderson will be formally elected as second vice-president of the
Chicago Bar Association. Henderson was selected by the CBA Nominating Committee
to run for the position and is unopposed. He will succeed to the office of
president of the Chicago Bar Association in June 2007.
