Thomas F. "Tom" Morante- Miami

MIAMI – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Thomas Morante has joined the firm's Miami office as a partner in the Financial Services Practice Group and Team Leader of the firm's Insurance Industry Team.

Morante focuses on insurance, banking and finance, and securities matters in the U.S. and internationally. He advises financial services clients on authorization, licensing, product development, sales and marketing practices, and regulatory compliance with respect to life insurance, variable products, hedge funds, health insurance, and title insurance. He also counsels clients relative to formation of captive insurers, reinsurance transactions, bancassurance, and compliance issues regarding offshore insurance transactions.

"We are delighted to have Tom join us," said Joe Sirven, Practice Group Leader of the firm's Financial Services Practice Group and a partner in the Miami office. "He adds considerable depth to our practice, particularly in the insurance space, at a critical time in the financial services industry when convergence in the U.S. and global regulatory framework applicable to financial services providers is likely."

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Morante was the head of Jones Walker's Miami and Washington, D.C. offices, and co-chaired its International Practice. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Union College, New York, his J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law, and his LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center.
