CHICAGO – Holland & Knight’s nationally regarded real estate practice continues to expand with the arrival of distinguished attorney Michael D. Rechtin as partner in the firm’s Chicago office.

Rechtin brings extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions, particularly in commercial lease matters. He represented the owner of 100 N. Riverside Plaza in Chicago in The Boeing Company world headquarters lease and UBS Warburg in its Chicago headquarters lease at UBS Tower (1 N. Wacker). He has significant knowledge of acquisitions, dispositions, construction, development, tax-free exchanges, joint ventures, loans and workouts. His practice includes representing REITs, pension funds, venture funds, manufacturing and retail companies as well as domestic and foreign financial institutions in connection with office building, industrial and shopping center properties.

“Michael’s transactional experience and the breadth of knowledge he brings will be a tremendous asset to our clients and to the continued strategic growth of our real estate practice,” said Tony Frink, Illinois Real Estate Transactions Practice Group Leader. With more than 200 lawyers, Holland & Knight’s Real Estate group is the largest of any firm in the United States.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Rechtin served as counsel at Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Michigan.
