Continued expansion bucks national trend
PORTLAND – The largest group of trusts and estates lawyers in the
United States adds another prominent attorney and Fellow of the American College
of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) to its nationally known team.
Christopher P.
Cline joins Holland & Knight’s Portland office as a partner in the Private
Wealth Services Section.
Cline brings extensive experience in the areas of estate planning and
administration and charitable giving for high-net-worth individuals, with a
particular emphasis on family business succession, retirement planning and
representing trustees, both corporate and individual. He is included in the Best
Lawyers in America list, widely regarded as the definitive legal referral guide
in the United States.
“Chris is an outstanding lawyer and Fellow whose expertise will be a
tremendous asset for our clients as we continue to expand our presence in the
Pacific Northwest,” said Ed Koren, Private Wealth Services section leader. Cline
is the firm’s 19th ACTEC Fellow; Holland & Knight has more ACTEC Fellows than
any other law firm in the country.
Holland & Knight’s Private Wealth Services group of approximately 100 lawyers
encompasses a diverse range of practices, including the development and
administration of trust and estate plans, sophisticated dispute resolution
techniques, a premier tax-exempt organizations practice and all matters related
to family businesses. “The extensive scope of our practice, in addition to our
large size and national platform, enables us to provide the expertise of a
boutique with the resources and collective experience of the nation’s
pre-eminent lawyers,” Koren said.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Cline was a partner with Lane Powell
Spears Lubersky LLP, practicing in the Portland office. He is admitted to
practice in Oregon and California, and is a member of the Oregon State Bar
Association. He earned his bachelor’s degree cum laude in English from San
Francisco State University in 1987, and received his J.D. from Hastings College
of Law in San Francisco in 1991.
