BOSTON and MIAMI – Daniel I. Small has joined Holland & Knight's litigation practice group as a partner. He will divide his time between the firm's Boston and Miami offices. Previously, he was a partner in the Miami office of Duane Morris.
Small's practice focuses on witness preparation, securities litigation, government and internal investigations, healthcare litigation, white-collar criminal law and complex civil litigation. He has extensive investigation, jury trial and other litigation experience and has been an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.

"He is nationally recognized as the foremost authority on witness preparation and has extensive litigation experience in a number of industries. Prior to entering private practice, Small was a prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice, during which time he tried RICO, corruption, financial and regulatory cases. He also was General Counsel for a publicly traded healthcare management firm, where he oversaw in-house legal and risk management staff, outside counsel, PLI and other litigation and facility, entity and physician contracting.
Small has authored several books for the American Bar Association, including Preparing Witnesses and Going to Trial, which are used in CLE programs throughout the country. Small is a frequent television, radio and newspaper commentator. He is a member of the Florida Bar, Massachusetts Bar and American Bar Association and is a 1979 graduate of Harvard Law School and a cum laude graduate of Harvard College.
