SAN FRANCISCO –Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that James A. Riddle has joined the firm's San Francisco office as a partner in the Litigation Group.
Riddle brings to the firm 25 years of experience handling high stakes insurance claims and disputes, counseling clients regarding insurance, reinsurance, captive insurance, self-insurance and risk management issues, and assisting clients to understand and comply with insurance laws and regulation.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Riddle was a partner at Thelen Reid, where he handled dozens of complex insurance coverage disputes across the country. For over a decade, he served as National Coordinating Counsel for a major client in connection with significant environmental coverage litigation. From 2001-2006, Riddle co-chaired Thelen Reid's Insurance Practice Group. He has been part of the leadership of American Bar Association's Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Section since 1990.
"Jim's extensive experience as a trial counsel in numerous multi-party insurance coverage and bad faith disputes will be a tremendous asset to Holland & Knight's litigation group," said Matthew Vafidis, Practice Group Leader of the firm's West Coast Litigation Group and a partner in the San Francisco office.
Riddle received his B.A. in Economics from University of California, Berkley. He earned his J.D. from the University of California Hastings, College of Law where he was Editor of the Hastings Law Journal.
