Firm Reports 30 Percent Increase in 2007 Revenue, Making Holland & Knight
the Fifth Largest Lobbying firm
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Holland & Knight grew the fastest of the nation's top ten lobbying firms in 2007 posting a 30 percent increase in revenues, according to Influence Magazine. The publication’s March 17, 2008 issue now ranks Holland & Knight 5th among the top U.S. lobbying firms, up from the 12th spot in its 2006 law and lobbying firm rankings.
The 2007 position continues a steady rise in Holland & Knight’s revenue and rankings. In 2006, when many lobbying firms were seeing flat, if not declining revenues, Holland & Knight bucked the trend posting a 14 percent revenue increase. For 2007, the firm’s growth outpaced its 2006 gross revenues by $10.4 million or 30 percent – a higher percentage gain than any of the other top 10 U.S. firms.
The "Influence 50" list reports overall rankings of law firms and lobbying shops based on revenues from 2007 lobbying fees. More than 100 lobbying and law firms were surveyed for Influence's rankings, limiting them to 2007 revenue generated by federal and state lobbying activities. The Influence rankings are determined by revenues as reported by firms complying with the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA) of 1995, which defines lobbying as "all activities intended to shape laws and regulations on behalf of clients."
"Holland & Knight's team approach provides clients multi-disciplinary resources under one roof – it's a big reason why our practice has continued to grow," said Rich Gold, who heads the firm's Public Policy and Regulation Practice Group.
In February 2008, Roll Call and The Hill each ranked Holland & Knight one of the top 25 grossing federal lobbying firms based on year-end total revenue figures reported by each firm.
