William Wise Joins Holland & Knight's Business Law Section in Boston

BOSTON – August 18, 2008 – William "Bill" Wise has recently joined Holland & Knight's Boston office as Senior Counsel. He will be a member of the firm's Business Law Section, focusing his practice on compliance and ethics issues, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions. Wise joins Holland & Knight from Analog Devices Inc., where he was Chief Compliance and Business Ethics Officer.
"With today's corporate climate, it's important to offer our clients a team of attorneys experienced in reviewing and developing compliance programs," said Jim McDermott, chair of Holland & Knight's Business Law Section. "Bill's corporate and compliance experience will continue to expand our capabilities by offering our clients another resource to assist them with analyzing their business practices."
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Wise was responsible for overseeing Analog's company compliance with legal and regulatory matters and ethical policies. In addition, he oversaw the company's environmental and social responsibility initiatives. Prior to his appointment as Chief Compliance and Business Ethics Officer for Analog, Wise led the company's legal department supervising all legal matters. He has a combined 35 years teaching undergraduate and post-graduate level courses in contract law and legal aspects of international business transactions. Wise also was a past Director of the National Board of the American Corporate Counsel Association and presently is the Director of the Ethics and Compliance Officers Association. He is a frequent lecturer on ethics and compliance topics to business leaders and graduates and undergraduates in the Boston area.
