SAN FRANCISCO – August 26, 2008 – Holland & Knight has expanded the firm's Financial Services Practice Group on the West Coast with the recent additions of public finance lawyers Edsell M. "Chip" Eady, Jr. and Henry C. Har to the firm's San Francisco office. Eady and Har were previously in the San Francisco office of Nixon Peabody.

"Chip and Henry bring considerable experience in the public finance area and will be valuable resources in strengthening our West Coast presence to better serve our clients," said Richard B. Stephens, Jr., co-chair of the firm's Financial Services Practice Group. "Chip has specific experience with post-employment benefits that will integrate well with our current capabilities in that area."

Eady joins Holland & Knight as a partner with more than 30 years of experience in public and project finance, both as a lawyer and investment banker. Eady is known nationally as a thought leader on the funding and preservation of retirement health care benefits for municipal employees and their dependents. He has worked with some of the largest global financial institutions and health insurers on new capital market structures and strategies engineered specifically for what is widely known as the other post-employment benefits (OPEB) problem.

Eady has been involved in a number of public finance projects in California and throughout the country, including the development of a new waterfront park in San Francisco; financing of green energy projects, new freeway interchanges and other public infrastructure; and developing the first tax-exempt financing of a governmentally owned convention center hotel in Chicago.

Har joins as an associate with significant experience in public finance and has acted as bond counsel, disclosure counsel and underwriter's counsel in a broad range of tax-exempt financings. His area of concentration is focused upon general infrastructure financings including numerous electric, water, and wastewater improvement projects, urban redevelopment projects, affordable housing transactions, lease revenue bonds and certificates of participation financings, military housing developments, and conduit financings for nonprofit corporations.
