Brian M. Garcia- Miami

MIAMI – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that prominent immigration and corporate lawyer Brian Garcia has joined the firm's Miami office as a partner in the International & Cross Border Transactions Practice Group. Previously he was a shareholder with Akerman Senterfitt, where he headed the firm's Immigration Practice.

Garcia assists U.S. and multinational companies, hospitals and universities in obtaining employment-related visas and permanent residence; acts as immigration counsel for mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations for the preservation of visas and permanent residence applications; and advises clients on employment verification and anti-discrimination procedures and enforcement actions. He also has an active corporate and mergers and acquisitions practice focusing on cross border transactions.

"Brian brings a wealth of immigration and mergers and acquisitions experience and knowledge to the firm's International & Cross Border Transactions Practice Group," said George Mencio, a partner in the Miami office and co-chair of the International & Cross Border Transactions Practice Group. "Brian's capabilities add significant strength to Holland & Knight's national immigration practice and will greatly benefit the firm's local, national and international clients."

Garcia is a frequent speaker on business immigration and corporate topics. He is ranked No. 1 by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers for Florida Immigration. Garcia received his J.D. from Tulane Law School.
