Sophia Nelson Selected as a Keynote Speaker for National Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sophia A. Nelson, senior counsel in Holland & Knight’s Government section, has been selected as a keynote speaker for the Minority Business & Professional’s Network, Inc.’s fifth annual Economic Empowerment & National Women’s Leadership Conference, which will be held Feb. 21-22 in Arlington, Va. She will speak on “What does the Re-election of President George W. Bush and the GOP Congress mean for small and woman-owned business.”

Nelson has extensive experience in federal procurement and contracting to assist small, emerging and large IT integrators and other companies doing business in the federal sector to strategically and tactically analyze and know their marketplace competition; to help them develop and implement a tactical approach to bidding and winning government contracts; to help them build successful business development process to drive company revenues and growth; and better help them to improve overall operations, strategic alliances with team partners, and organizational culture.

Nelson received her Juris Doctor from The American University Washington College of Law in 1994, and her bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in 1990. She is a member of both the New Jersey and American Bar Associations.
