John Mussman Joins Holland & Knight’s Banking & Finance Group

CHICAGO – Holland & Knight today announced that John Mussman has
joined the Banking & Finance Group, as a partner in the firm’s Chicago office.
“We’re pleased to welcome John to the group, his strength in banking,
corporate and regulatory law will be a great addition to our burgeoning
financial services practice nationwide and in Chicago,” said Al Avila, Banking &
Finance Practice Group Leader. “John will play an integral role in helping
expand the firm''s focus on serving banks, mortgage banks and other financial
institutions in Chicago and nationwide.”
Mussman joins the Banking & Finance national group headed by Al Avila. In
Chicago, the practice includes Tim Bergan, Michael Weissman, Rob Mintz, David
Mann, Craig McCrohon.

Mussman concentrates his practice in banking, consumer credit and general
corporate law. He represents banks, mortgage banks and other financial
institutions in a wide range of corporate transactions, including stock and
asset purchases and acquisitions, consumer credit-related matters as well as
other state and federal regulatory and licensing issues. He also has extensive
experience representing both financial institutions and other non-bank clients
in developing financial service products and solutions and addressing complex
and class action litigation.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mussman was a partner in the Finance Group
of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary. Mussman received his J.D. cum laude from
the University of Michigan Law School. Prior to law school he
was a legislative assistant in the Washington office of U.S. Senator
Edward Zorinsky (Nebraska), concentrating on labor issues, federal employment,
intergovernmental affairs, public works and water policy and liaison with state
and federal agencies. Before working for Zorinsky, he received his B.A. cum
laude from Kalamazoo College.
