November 30, 2007

BOSTON – Holland & Knight LLP is pleased to announce that lawyers Nicole Clement and Kwamina Williford have been named to the inaugural Stakeholder 100 Class of 2007. Both participated in the organization's two-day intensive training course designed to challenge and advance their career development.

The Stakeholder 100 is a national program created to identify and actively invest in the top performing associates of color by working with industry leaders and law firms to deliver investments directed to career development and impact. The selection committee was comprised of a group of senior level executives working through national and regional committees. Nominated associates were judged on their professional excellence, subject matter expertise and technical skills, pipeline investment, investment in career development, resilience and grit, impact on firm and clients, and team play and collaboration. Clement and Williford were nominated by Steven Wright and Damon Hart, partners in Holland & Knight's Boston office.

Nicole R. Clement, an associate in Holland & Knight's Boston office, is a member of the firm's Business Law Department. Clement concentrates her practice in the areas of general corporate law, tax credit syndication, partnership law and real estate. She has experience representing developers, institutional investors and syndicators in the debt and equity financing of real estate developments utilizing low-income housing tax credits and historic rehabilitation tax credits. Clement currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and on the Rhode Island Bar Association's Committee on Involvement of Minorities.

Kwamina Thomas Williford, an associate in the firm's Washington, D.C. office, practices with the firm's Litigation Group. She primarily focuses on complex commercial litigation, white collar defense, and corporate compliance. Williford represents clients in complex matters related to government investigations, commercial contract disputes, federal constitutional and sentencing issues, and copyright infringement claims. She further advises clients on corporate compliance matters for companies in the health care industry, advising clients on how to minimize and respond to potential litigation and prosecution risks. Williford previously served on the Board of Directors for the Volunteer Lawyer's Project and was awarded the Boston Medical Center's Family Advocacy Program Annual Pro Bono Service Award.
