The U.S. Supreme Court recently denied an employer’s request for review of a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, which held that tipped employees spending more than 20 percent of their time performing related but non-tipped duties must be paid the full minimum wage for that time, without the tip credit.

Holland & Knight Attorney Jordan A. Dresnick Elected to Serve on the Board of Directors of the Dade County Bar Association

MIAMI – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Jordan A. Dresnick, an attorney in the firm's Miami office, was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Dade County Bar Association (DCBA). Dresnick will be sworn in by United States District Judge Donald Graham on June 5, 2009, when his three-year term will commence.

The DCBA is the largest voluntary Bar Association in Florida and is comprised of 4,500 active members. The Board of Directors consists of five Officers and thirty Board members elected by the entire membership. Up to eight local bars are invited to appoint one Board member for a one-year term.

Dresnick is an associate with Holland & Knight's Litigation department. His practice areas include complex and commercial litigation. He received his B.A., with distinction and Phi Beta Kappa in quantitative finance from the University of Virginia, earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Miami, and was awarded a French Language Proficiency Diploma (1st and 2nd degree) from the French Ministry of Education in Paris, France.
