Holland & Knight Forms National Health Care Reform Task Force

August 17, 2009

MIAMI - August 17, 2009 – As Congress debates the specifics of national health care reform, Holland & Knight has established a Health Care Reform Task Force to help clients around the country address the reform issues and changing federal policy.

The task force consists of a strategic, interdisciplinary group of more than 20 lawyers and professionals across the country with significant expertise in health policy, government reimbursement and health plans, health information technology and experience establishing complex integrated healthcare delivery systems.

"Regardless of congressional actions, major changes in payment systems that focus on care coordination, quality and efficiency, rather than on volume, are coming and will drive the healthcare delivery system reform," said Maria Currier, chair of the firm’s National Health Law & Life Sciences Team and a partner in the Miami office.

Members of Holland & Knight’s national Health Care Reform Task Force are actively counseling clients on expected changes in Medicare reimbursement policy, complex provider integration strategies, legal and regulatory barriers to care coordination, medical homes and health information technology system reforms.

"Holland and Knight's national Health Care Reform Task Force is on the cutting edge of these reform developments and can help our clients truly understand how the policy changes will impact their business," Currier continued. "We are well positioned to assist the industry's stakeholders in creating effective strategies to respond and stay competitive in a rapidly changing industry."
