Paul Kiernan Appointed Executive Partner for Holland & Knight's Mid-Atlantic Region

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Holland & Knight Managing Partner Steven Sonberg has appointed litigation partner Paul Kiernan to serve as Executive Partner of the firm's Mid-Atlantic Region, which includes offices in Washington, D.C., Bethesda, Md., and McLean, Va.

Kiernan will be responsible for supervising the management of the firm's largest region of offices where almost 500 lawyers and staff are employed. Holland & Knight's Mid-Atlantic Region is known for its strength in real estate, government representation and lobbying, litigation, and corporate mergers and acquisitions.

"I look forward to working with our new firm leadership as we expand our services to a growing number of clients in the Mid-Atlantic Region," Kiernan said.

"Paul's demonstrated leadership abilities will be a strong asset in his new role as executive partner in our Mid-Atlantic Region," said Sonberg. "He is an extremely well respected lawyer in the business community, and I know the offices will benefit from his wealth of experience. Continued growth in the Mid-Atlantic Region will be an important goal for our firm."

Kiernan is a trial and appellate lawyer who handles complex corporate and real estate litigation as well as disputes involving local governments. He was named a 2008 Washington, D.C. Super Lawyer for business litigation by Super Lawyers magazine. He is a 1983 graduate from Harvard Law School.

Holland & Knight's Mid-Atlantic region is prominently involved in area civic and charitable causes and was recently named a finalist for the Washington Business Journal's 2008 Philanthropy Awards (Community Impact category).
