Headed by partners Juan Mayol, Joseph Goldstein, Alan Krischer and Ines

professionals. They bring significant land use, zoning and environmental
expertise to the firm’s established real estate practice in Miami.
They join Holland & Knight's nationally regarded team of more than 250 real
estate lawyers and professionals, the largest group of its type in the nation.
The group was formerly at Akerman Senterfitt in Miami.
“Juan, Joe and their land use group are a perfect complement to our booming
real estate practice. Their arrival also fits very nicely with our current
strategy to grow smartly by adding the best lawyers in key practice areas. We
are delighted to have them at our firm,” stated Peter Prieto, executive partner
of Holland & Knight's Miami office.”
In addition to Mayol, Goldstein, Krischer and Marrero-Priegues, the group
includes senior counsel Felix Lasarte and Leila Jackson Batties; associate
Stephen James; land use consultants Michael Freire and Erik Fresen; and Robert
Losada.
The group focuses their practice in the areas of land use and zoning, real
estate and environmental law. Clients they represent on a variety of issues
before federal, state, regional and local agencies include home builders;
office, hotel and shopping center developers; retailers and restaurant
businesses; sports facilities; schools; universities; hospitals; private
institutions and developers of planned communities.
“This team constitutes one of the top groups of land use lawyers in Florida
-- highly respected for their ability to help clients navigate the complex
governmental process and dynamic regulatory environment,” said John Halula,
Holland & Knight real estate practice group leader for Miami. “Combining their
outstanding talent with our established real estate practice brings exceptional
experience and broad real estate legal services to our clients.”
“We are looking forward to the opportunities that Holland and Knight will
provide our practice, which will only continue to enhance the expanding goals
