Holland & Knight Tampa Partner A. Brian Albritton Nominated For U.S. Attorney of the Middle District of Florida

TAMPA – A. Brian Albritton, a litigation partner in the firm's Tampa office, has been nominated by President George W. Bush for U.S. Attorney of the Middle District of Florida. The nomination must be approved by the Senate. Once approved, Albritton will take over for interim U.S. Attorney Robert O'Neill.

Bob Grammig Named Practice Group Leader at Holland & Knight

MIAMI – Holland & Knight LLP announced today that partner Robert “Bob” Grammig has been named to head the firm''s Securities and Public Companies Practice Group. The Securities and Public Companies Practice Group, which is part of the Firm''s Business Law Section, is comprised of more than 70 attorneys nationally, and focuses primarily on the needs of public company clients including capital markets activities, corporate governance and M&A transactions.

Grammig, of the firm’s Tampa office, is widely known in the field of corporate and securities law. He has served as lead counsel on initial public offerings and secondary offerings representing both issuers and underwriters for over 20 years. In addition to his capital markets practice, Grammig has represented numerous public and private corporations in a variety of sophisticated domestic and international merger and acquisition transactions.   

Steven Sonberg, a corporate and securities partner located in the Miami office, who chairs the Business Law Section, is enthusiastic about the breadth of expertise Grammig will bring to the position. “Bob has a level of experience in representing public companies and in M&A transactions that is second to none. He will bring strong leadership skills and talent to this position and I expect him to raise the profile of the firm's representation of middle market corporate clients in Florida and nationally.” 

In commenting on his new role, Grammig indicated, “I intend to focus on continuing to serve our many publicly traded clients, as well as to our investment banking clients that serve them. We will continue to emphasize the hands-on involvement of senior personnel in transactions and our focus on the particular complex needs of middle market public companies. Our clients appreciate our dedication to helping them achieve their objectives in areas of ever-increasing complexity and dramatic legal change,” Grammig said.

Grammig earned his B.A. summa cum laude and his M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978, and his J.D. in 1981 from Harvard Law School.
