Holland & Knight Adds Prominent Attorney to Illinois Real Estate Practice

CHICAGO – Holland & Knight’s nationally regarded real estate practice
continues to expand with the arrival of distinguished attorney Michael D.
Rechtin as partner in the firm’s Chicago office.
Rechtin brings extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions,
particularly in commercial lease matters. He represented the owner of 100 N.
Riverside Plaza in Chicago in The Boeing Company world headquarters lease and
UBS Warburg in its Chicago headquarters lease at UBS Tower (1 N. Wacker). He has
significant knowledge of acquisitions, dispositions, construction, development,
tax-free exchanges, joint ventures, loans and workouts. His practice includes
representing REITs, pension funds, venture funds, manufacturing and retail
companies as well as domestic and foreign financial institutions in connection
with office building, industrial and shopping center properties.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Rechtin served as counsel at Mayer Brown
Rowe & Maw. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Michigan. Rechtin earned
his bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1989 and
his law degree cum laude from University of Notre Dame Law School in 1992.
