John Reilly Named Executive Partner of Holland & Knight's New York Office

NEW YORK – Holland & Knight LLP announced today that John J. Reilly
has been named Executive Partner of the firm's New York office. Reilly, a
litigation partner and member of the firm's national Directors Committee, brings
wide-ranging legal expertise and leadership skills to his new role.
"John is highly respected in his field and has the qualities and experience
that will enable us to continue leveraging strategic practice areas in New York
and beyond," said Howell W. Melton, Jr., Holland & Knight's managing partner.
"He is a natural choice to lead our New York office, and I am confident he will
serve with great distinction in his new role."
Reilly has practiced law since 1968, and has served as lead counsel in
federal trial and appellate litigation through the United States in matters
involving antitrust, alleged price-fixing conspiracies, maritime casualties,
RICO actions, major oil pollution incidents, and New York Stock Exchange
arbitrations.
Within Holland & Knight, Reilly has held various leadership positions,
including practice group leader for the NYC Commercial Litigation Group and NYC
Pro Bono Partner. He has served on the firm's Directors Committee since 2000 and
has a leading role in the firm's Litigation Section Training Program.
In the community, Reilly is the chair of the Maritime Committee of the Public
Utility, Communications and Transportation Law Section of the American Bar
Association and a director of The Ireland-U.S. Council for Commerce & Industry,
Inc. He is a member of The American Bar Association Committee on Litigation, the
Federal Bar Council and is past chairman of the New York County Bar Association
Committee on Admiralty.
Reilly earned his bachelor's degree from Fordham College in 1964 and his J.D.
from Fordham Law School in 1967. He served in the United States Marine Corps
from 1967-1971 and was released from active duty with the rank of Captain USMCR.
