Prominent Group of Private Wealth Attorneys Rejoins Holland & Knight

Artist Commissioned to Create Tillie K. Fowler Memorial Sculpture in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Rhode Island-based sculptor Brower Hatcher has been commissioned by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville through its Art in Public Places Program to create an outdoor sculpture to honor the late Tillie K. Fowler. The artist was commissioned to commemorate the life and work of Fowler, a dedicated Jacksonville attorney and pioneering leader in local and national politics.

NYMAR Elects New Officers and Directors Including Chairman William Honan of Holland & Knight

New York – New York Maritime Inc. (NYMAR) has elected new officers and three new directors. William J. Honan, a partner in the New York office of law firm Holland & Knight, has been elected chairman, succeeding founding chairman Robert J. Gruendel.

“This is an exciting time to be at the helm of NYMAR as we grow and promote the exceptional opportunities for the shipping industry in New York,” Honan said. “The city’s creativity, energy and perseverance are unmatched anywhere else. Our goal is to continue to expand the organization and spread the good news about doing business in New York.”

Other officers elected at a board meeting on January 12 were Keith W. Heard, a partner in the law firm of Burke & Parsons, as vice-chairman; Lawrence Rutkowski, partner and head of the Transportation Finance group in the law firm of Seward & Kissel, as secretary; and Susan Dorgan of the firm of Donovan Parry McDermott & Radzik, as treasurer. The officers will serve two-year terms.

Elected to the board of directors were David Martowski, former president of the Society of Maritime Arbitrators in New York and former chairman of Thomas R. Miller (Americas) Inc.; Fredric S. London, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of OMI Corporation; and Mr. Heard of Burke & Parsons. Each director will serve a three-year term.
