Artist Commissioned to Create Tillie K. Fowler Memorial Sculpture in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Rhode Island-based sculptor Brower Hatcher has been commissioned by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville through its Art in Public Places Program to create an outdoor sculpture to honor the late Tillie K. Fowler. The artist was commissioned to commemorate the life and work of Fowler, a dedicated Jacksonville attorney and pioneering leader in local and national politics.

Two Holland & Knight Partners Participate in Risk, Compliance and Crisis Management Best Practice Summit

CHICAGO – On September 13, 2006, Holland & Knight partners Randal Craft and Colin Smith will participate in Martindale-Hubbell's Counsel to Counsel Best Practice Summit at The Gleacher Center in Chicago, Ill. The summit brings senior in-house counsel and law firm partners together for a facilitated, off-the-record discussion to share their ideas and best practices for the legal challenges they face.

As panelists on the corporate crisis management forum, Damage Control: Corporate Counsel's Role in Containing/Resolving Corporate Crises, Craft and Smith will discuss best practices in controlling fallout from high profile disputes and litigation; controlling damage through coordination with public affairs and other corporate functions; threat management: proactive steps to safeguard the corporate reputation; advising executive management on image and crisis issues; and the role and value of outside lawyers in crisis management.

Craft is the senior litigation partner in the Litigation Practice Group in Holland & Knight's New York office. His practice is devoted primarily to providing advice on handling government investigations of major accidents and conducting litigation involving mass disasters, product liability, aircraft accidents and insurance matters. He is a frequent speaker on these topics.

Smith is a member of the Litigation Practice Group in Holland & Knight's Chicago office, and he is the leader of the firm's National Product Liability Team. He practices in the areas of product liability, general tort, and commercial litigation and has extensive experience counseling clients on a broad spectrum of loss prevention and litigation management issues.
