Francis L. Keldermans and Janet Wagner Jelen Rejoin the Chicago Office to Better Service Clients

CHICAGO – Holland & Knight LLP announced today that a former partner and associate are rejoining the firm’s Chicago office. Francis “Frank” L. Keldermans and Janet Wagner Jelen are both returning to Holland & Knight from the Chicago office of Sinar, Keldermans, Miller & Friedman, LLC. Keldermans rejoins Holland & Knight as a partner and Jelen rejoins as an associate.

“I am happy to be back with attorneys I have practiced with since the beginning of my career,” said Frank Keldermans. “The resources at Holland & Knight will greatly benefit the clients I am bringing with me back to the firm.”

Frank Keldermans will continue his practice in the areas of commercial real estate with a heavy emphasis on representing lenders in real estate loan transactions. He represents commercial real estate lenders with respect to acquisition, construction, and long-term lending. Keldermans also acts as Illinois Counsel with respect to multi-state loan transactions and acts as issuer’s counsel in certain bond financings.

Keldermans represents commercial developers in connection with all aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions, development, leasing and construction. In addition he represents banks, savings and loans and mortgage bankers in commercial foreclosures and workout proceedings.

Keldermans was the head of the Financial Services Group at Sinar, Keldermans, Miller & Friedman, LLC. He was a partner at McBride Baker & Coles from 1983 through 2002 when the firm merged with Holland & Knight LLP. He is a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. He earned a B.A. (1976) and a J.D. (1980) from Loyola University.

Janet Wagner Jelen will continue her practice in the areas of commercial real estate transactions, real estate lending and bond financing and asset-based lending. Jelen represents commercial banks, institutional lenders, insurance companies and other lenders in their financing transactions. She also represents municipalities, entities and individuals in various matters, including real estate acquisition, dispositions, construction, conversion projects, commercial and home builder loans and commercial real estate leasing and financing matters. Beginning in 2000, Jelen was an associate with McBride Baker & Coles which merged with Holland & Knight in 2002.

Jelen earned a J.D. (2000) from Loyola University and a B.A. in Philosophy, cum laude, from Mundelein College (now Loyola University, Chicago).
