Elias Matsakis Named Executive Partner of Holland & Knight's Chicago Office

CHICAGO –
Elias Matsakis has been appointed to serve as executive partner of Holland &
Knight's Chicago office. Matsakis will oversee the day-to-day management of
Holland & Knight's second-largest office and the continued expansion of the
firm's core practices in the Chicago market.

With more than 140 lawyers, the Chicago office is the firm's second largest,
with strong business, commercial and products litigation, labor and employment,
real estate land use and government practices. Holland & Knight was ranked no. 1
in Illinois for its media and entertainment practice in the 2006 edition
Chambers USA – America’s Leading Business Lawyers.
Matsakis will maintain his successful business practice, which includes
complex corporate finance and merger and acquisition transactions for both
business and not for profit entities. In addition to his leadership role as
executive partner, he serves on the firm's national Directors Committee and is
head of the Chicago Business Team. Matsakis is a member of the Chicago, Illinois
State, Hellenic and American Bar Associations as well as the Commercial Law
League. He currently serves on the Finance committee of the Northfield Township
District 225 High School Board.
Matsakis received his B.A., with honors, from University of Chicago in 1971
and his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1974.
