Holland & Knight Partner Peter Prieto Named Co-Chair of the Firm's National White Collar Defense Team

June 12, 2007

MIAMI – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Peter Prieto, executive partner of the firm's Miami office, has been named co-chair of the firm's national White Collar Defense Team.

Prieto focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, including the defense of class actions and white collar criminal defense. Prior to re-joining Holland & Knight's Miami office in 1996, Prieto was an Assistant United States Attorney in Miami for several years where he focused on healthcare and bank fraud, money laundering, and RICO investigations and prosecutions. From 1995 until June of 1996, he served as Associate Deputy Independent Counsel in the criminal investigation of Ron Brown, the late U.S. Secretary of Commerce.

"As a former prosecutor, and for the last decade as an advisor to companies and business executives, Peter is ideally suited to co-chair the firm's experienced team of lawyers who are capable of handling white collar matters in virtually any industry," said Dick Duvall, chair of the firm's Litigation Section. "The white collar practice area has been, and will continue to be, very much in demand in today's legal market place because of the government's continuing focus on corporate wrongdoing."
