MIAMI – October 22, 2007 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce the addition of three associates to the firm's Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices. Brian Briz and Summer LePree join Holland & Knight's Miami office and Max Levine joins the Fort Lauderdale office.
Briz practices in Holland & Knight's Litigation Section, focusing primarily in the area of commercial litigation. He has experience representing corporations and individuals in various matters, including securities litigation and arbitration, contract disputes, real estate litigation, and litigation involving non-compete agreements. Briz earned his B.B.A. cum laude from the University of Miami in 2000 and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003.
LePree, a member of the firm's Business Section, practices in the areas of trusts and estates and taxation. She performs work on sophisticated estate planning strategies and counsels individuals and family businesses on succession planning and tax planning. LePree received her J.D. from the University of Florida, with honors. In 2007, she earned her Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida, with highest honors, and was awarded the Richard B. Stevens Award for 2007 as the outstanding graduate of the program.
Levine practices in the areas of tax planning and tax controversy in Holland & Knight's Business Section. He has experience with the federal tax aspects of domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures, and investments for clients in a broad range of industries. Levine also has experience with administrative practice before the Internal Revenue Service and with the United States Tax Court practice and procedure. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Levine served as an attorney-advisor to Judge Juan F. Vasquez of the United States Tax Court from July 2006-07. He earned his J.D. cum laude in 2005 from Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 2006.
