Holland & Knight's Jerome Hoffman Receives Board Certification in Antitrust and Trade Regulation Law from The Florida Bar

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Holland & Knight LLP is pleased to announce that Jerome Hoffman, a litigation partner in the firm''s Tallahassee office, has received board certification in Antitrust and Trade Regulation Law from The Florida Bar. Certification is the highest level of recognition given by The Florida Bar for competency and experience within an area of law. Hoffman was also appointed to serve on the Florida Bar's Antitrust and Trade Regulation Certification Committee.
Hoffman's litigation practice focuses on antitrust, consumer fraud, RICO, Medicaid and Medicare fraud, and health care regulatory matters. He has represented hospitals in numerous antitrust, certificate of need and regulatory matters. He has also represented a wide variety of clients in False Claims Act, consumer fraud, and RICO actions by state and federal law enforcers.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Hoffman served as general counsel for the Agency for Health Care Administration supervising 40 attorneys responsible for prosecuting Medicaid overpayments; regulating hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and home health agencies; prosecuting disciplinary cases before the Board of Medicine and other health care professional licensing boards; and providing general legal services to the Agency.
Hoffman also served as chief of the Antitrust Section of the Florida Attorney General’s Office for eight years. As chief, he was lead counsel for the State of Florida in numerous antitrust cases in both state and federal court in a wide variety of cases involving bid-rigging, price fixing, monopolization and other restraints of trade, as well as merger reviews. He has argued cases before the Florida District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court and the Courts of Appeal for the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh circuits.
