Holland & Knight Team Closes $20 Million Transaction to Sell Traffic Control Products Business on Behalf of Quixote Corporation

CHICAGO – On July 25, 2008, Holland & Knight closed a $20 million transaction on behalf of longtime client Quixote Corporation to sell its Intersection Control business segment to Signal Group. Quixote's Intersection Control business segment produces and sells intelligent traffic control systems, pedestrian signals and other products for the traffic control market. The $20 million time sensitive transaction took place in less than five weeks and involved the sale of all outstanding capital stock of three Quixote subsidiaries.

Holland & Knight's William R. Lane Jr. Receives American Red Cross Legacy Award

TAMPA, Fla. – William R. Lane Jr., a partner in Holland & Knight's Tampa office, is the honored recipient of the 2008 Legacy Award from the Hillsborough County Chapter of the American Red Cross. The award is given annually to recognize an individual's "professional contribution toward promoting charitable planned giving in the community." He received the award during a breakfast reception today at the Tampa Club.

Lane is the North/Central Florida regional team leader for Holland & Knight's Private Wealth Services Group. He practices in the areas of trusts and estates, tax exempt organizations and family business succession planning. Lane served on the drafting committee for the new Florida Trust Code, and frequently is called upon to lecture on the Florida Trust Code and other estate planning topics. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Florida Super Lawyers and named a Legal Elite lawyer by Florida Trend magazine.
