Holland & Knight's Real Estate Section Adds David Allswang in Chicago

CHICAGO – David B. Allswang has joined Holland & Knight's Chicago office as a partner in the firm's Real Estate Section. Allswang concentrates his practice in the area of real estate law, with an emphasis on commercial leasing on behalf of landlords and tenants. He was previously a partner at DLA Piper.

"We are excited about the considerable amount of knowledge and experience in the real estate industry that David is bringing to Holland & Knight and we are equally thrilled that his presence immediately helps expand our client base across the country," said Janis Schiff, chair of the firm's Real Estate Section. "He, along with several other real estate attorneys we've recently added, will help Holland & Knight continue to provide our clients with an experienced team ready to assist with their real estate needs."

Allswang has counseled a wide array of clients regarding the acquisition and disposition of retail, office, residential and industrial properties. He is primarily responsible for leasing over one million square feet of space across the U.S. on behalf of various landlord entities. Allswang has completed a number of complex lease agreements and has done a substantial number of anchor leases for retail centers. He has been a featured speaker at seminars on a variety of real estate topics, including lease negotiations strategies, escrow agreements and closing statements.
